Happy Holidays everyone. I’m back… ya miss me?
There’s a new luxagraf for your amusement, but IT’S NOT FINISHED. It has bugs, lots of them, content is missing (mostly photos), old links are broken, it’s a mess really, but eventually I’ll work that stuff out. I got tired of waiting for perfection.
It also probably looks like crap in Internet Explorer, but I’ll be honest with you, that’s low on the list. If it even makes the list. Try Firefox, it’s better.
Shortly after I got back from Paris I decided that luxagraf needed some new features, things that were beyond what Movable Type (or any other blog software) was capable of so I ditched it. I started to write a custom site in PHP, but then I discovered Django. And Django is written in python so it took me a while to teach myself python, which I still don’t totally understand, but I understand enough.
Then I took a job writing for Wired.com, which the Wired folks described as 1/2-3/4 time, which is just not true. It’s full time. And I love it, but it keeps me busy.
I’m not traveling anymore, which may mean I’m decidedly less interesting, but now that I have the new site I am going to try to post a little something every day. If all goes well I’ll get a bunch of short posts on a regular basis and a longer one once every week or two.
Eventually I’ll tidy things up, fix the broken links, squash the bugs and post the rest of the photographs. In the mean time if you find something broken, don’t hesitate to tell me about it.
I’ll be the first to admit that the new luxagraf is a bit labyrinth-like and you may well get lost; I wrote the thing and I still get lost sometimes, but I rather like getting lost here and I hope you do to.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas.
