Highly recommended. It looks hooky and people might stare at you sometimes, but it eliminates a source of worry. I generally only used it on trains, for when I stepped off at stations to grab a bite to eat or smoke or something. But I traveled with some people that used it every night. Also prevents bag slashing, which is more of problem in some places.
